The Annual NetIAS Business Meeting Gathers Participants from over 25 European IASs in Oslo
Yesterday and today, SCAS Principal and NetIAS President Christina Garsten, along with SCAS staff,
attended and chaired the annual NetIAS business meeting, which was graciously hosted this year by the
Centre for Advanced Study (CAS) in Oslo. The meeting had strong in-person representation from nearly
all institutes for advanced study, showcasing the ongoing commitment to this important gathering.
Each year, institutes demonstrate their dedication not only by attending the annual meetings but also by
participating in various working groups throughout the year. These groups tackle crucial topics such as
early-career researchers, diversity, and application processes. Meeting face-to-face fosters a spirit of
collaboration and offers valuable opportunities for exchanging ideas. Most importantly, participants leave
with a shared sense of purpose and clear action steps for the year ahead.
SCAS is proud to be part of such a dynamic and engaged network. We would like to extend our gratitude
to this year’s host, the Centre for Advanced Study, for welcoming everyone so warmly and for organizing
such a productive event.
We are also pleased to announce that SCAS will have the honor of hosting next year’s NetIAS annual
business meeting at our premises.
