Oana Albu's research focuses on digital technology, social movements, and communication studies. At
SCAS, she will continue to examine how visibility and invisibility created by digital platforms shape the
mobilization of climate movements. Albu investigates how in/visibility trajectories result from the interplay
between activists’ practices, uses and non-uses of technology, and platforms’ content moderation. This
project pushes forward research at the intersection of media and communication studies and adds to our
understanding of how climate movements can navigate the conundrums of in/visibility on digital platforms.
