Tor Hernes, Professor of Organization Theory at Copenhagen Business School (CBS).
Adjunct Professor, University of South-Eastern Norway
Tor Hernes, PhD, is Professor of Organization Theory at Copenhagen Business School (CBS),
Denmark and is Adjunct Professor at University of South-Eastern Norway. His research focuses
primarily on organizations, process, and temporality, with a particular interest in an event-based
understanding of time. In his recent work published in Journal of Management, Academy of
Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Organization Studies, Organization Theory,
and Strategic Organization, Tor Hernes has applied process-based time theorizing to different aspects
of organizations. Tor co-directs the Centre for Organization and Time at CBS. His book, A Process
Theory of Organization, won the George R. Terry Book award at the Academy of Management Con-
ference in 2015. His most recent book, Organization and Time, published by Oxford University Press,
discusses novel ways to understand the temporal shaping of organizations.

Anders Ekström, Professor of History of Science and Ideas, Uppsala University
Anders Ekström is Professor of History of Science and Ideas at Uppsala University since 2012. His
research and teaching is broadly focused on modern European and Scandinavian cultural and media
history and theory, with a particular emphasis on the long 19th century. Ekström's current research
(September 2021) is focused on two main areas: 1) the history of temporality and cultural processes
of temporalization; 2) synthesizing perspectives on the modern history of publicness.
